Paris Tricot

Last night the Paris knitting group met. It was GREAT! I can only speak for myself, but I had a blast. Check out the photos on Marie's page. For any of you out there who may be in Paris next Thursday, (I'm talking to you Kim) come along!

Frogville

Hmmm... Just when I was thinking, "Boy, I'm knitting fast" and, "Geez! This is coming out great!" I realized that not only did I screw up the repeat in my pattern, but I also was knitting at a different guage than my swatch so it was too darned big and I ended up ripping out the whole darned thing. It was nice sitting around knitting for a while anyway. I'm just hoping I'll have time tomorrow to do the same (it's unlikely)

What is this pattern? What is this "it" I'm talking about? You'll see... It's a surprise!

TOOT TOOT!

That's the sound of me tooting my own horn, so get ready!

Julia has started an Anouk knit along (I wrote it if you didn't know). I am going participate and knit the real live Anouk a new dress in a new colorway. If you want to knit along too, go to Julia's site and sign up! And while you're at it, take a button! (I couldn't decide which I liked, so pick your favorite)

and link it to Julia. If you are wondering what the side of the dress looks like, look at this photo. It might clear things up.

What the heck am I talking about?

So I made these booties... and then I unmade them... and made them again... and again. And for once in my life I was fairly organized and tried to write down what I was doing. Now I have to try to translate what I wrote into normal English. Between the things that were crossed out and rewritten and done again.

what the...!?

I need a new project. Last night I was knitting a little swatch to test what I had written. I'm telling you, it felt darned nice. I really need to find a new project. OHH! I know! I'm going to make a bottom's up hat from chicknits! I ordered it a while back and have never started it. I gotta join Becky's knitalong.

I think I have an exclamation point problem... ok. No more.

Samantha

YEAH! The new desk is paying off! I have the Samantha pattern more than half finished!

Aiyagruuuuuuggggggggh!

This is my cry of frustration in the midst of writing out patterns. Just when I think I am half done, I change my mind about something and have to go back and fix everything! Aiyagruuuuuuggggggggh!

Let's talk about socks, baby

Last time I took the plane back to the US, I had a burning desire to make socks. I had some Plymouth Sockotta and a copy of the winter Interweave Knits. So I put them together and made an uptown boot sock. Call the knitting police because I have a confession to make: I used the wrong needle size and didn't even check my gauge. I made do with what I had. Here's the photo:

Love the pattern, like the yarn, don't love this yarn for this pattern. I prefer doing cable-type things in a solid color.

I've also been working on writing out the Samantha pattern from my site. The 3 smallest sizes are done. I'm just trying to add some bigger ones.

Welcome to my blog
