Loose ends day

I finished knitting the Laura sweater. I just have to sew on the arms and get a couple buttons. I'll probably block it before I seam, but I've decided that as long as I was going to pull out my couch to block on, I might as well block a couple things at once. I wanted to finish and block the Anouk I was making for my MIL, but I can't find it! I thought it was in my work basket (which is overflowing with random swatches and bunny rejects rather than actual work in progress), but it's not. The stupid thing kept turning up like a bad penny when I was trying to ignore it. Now that I'm ready to just finish it, it's disappeared and the family room is pretty clean, so it's not clutter that's to blame. I really think it got ticked that I was ignoring it and insulting it so much and it left the house. I'm also determined to finish a Lise hat that has about 5 rows at the point that need to be done, plus the seam and pompon. I'd also like to work on my dandy sweater (which still desperately needs a better name), but I'm being really strict with myself. I'm determined to finish these other things first.

I found cheese in the vegetable bin once . . .

Hey, I sent a check for patterns - did you get it? :-)

Sweetpea, you sure lose knitted objects a lot. It's so funny. I have confidence that as before you will find anouk.

look under the clapotis, which is hiding under the laundry pile...

You'll find her, I know you will. In the meantime, I LOVE Laura! This could be the Fair Isle project I take on this year. And the peek at the inside, what great knitting skills! What beauty! I'm SERIOUS here!

oh Kate! Did you put Anouk in a bag somewhere? That happens to me all the time. I stick knitting projects in numerous bags to work on while waiting for the bus. And then I go to look in my workbasket and of course, it's not there...

Did you try walking around the house calling, "heeeeere, Anoukanoukanoukanouk..."? Did you ask yourself where you would be if you were an Anouk? Did you check in the freezer? orrrr....the laundry? At the very least, your Laura is beautiful and it looks like you had enough of all your colours to finish it. My kid wants one. I've never done Fair Isle, but I'm game. Hint, hint.

My husband would like to implant a GPS chip into my arm for when we go shopping because I'm too short to see over the tops of the aisles...I can honestly say he's never lost me in the laundry, though. Probably because he's folded it a total of once in his life. Your frog must have better odds than that in successful towel-folding if your family room is actually clean...

This sweater is so pretty! I love the colors and the light colorwork. Fair Isle still scares me (I had a bad, bad experience with intarsia so have avoided all colorwork since) but your little hints of color on the edges are rather inspiring. Can't wait to see it seamed and blocked.

I'm loving Laura. And your new shoes are to die for. Hope you have some luck finding Anouk. I lose things all the time. I like Terry's idea of a knitting GPS. :)

You know, you really have a good eye for color - the shoes, your sweaters. Gee, maybe a GPS system should be invented for our knitting projects we put aside...
