And the winner is...

High Energy Jenny! She guessed 28,500 and was darned close. The correct answer was 28,586. Though I know Jenny a little bit from her blog, I think I'll consult her before picking a prize. Buying yarn for people makes me nervous. I should have contests more often*. It was really fun to read all of your responses. I actually laughed outloud when people started posting numbers in the hundred-thousands. I wish I had knit that much in five days. I would have finished two or three sweaters... and made an appointment for wrist surgery. So thanks to all who entered. I'm honored that so many of you are under the false impression that I knit quickly. I'm still knitting my little hands to the bone. And I still can't show you. Sorry. I can't even tell you how much it's killing me to not talk about what I'm working on. Instead, here's a photo of one of my window garden boxes this morning.

One of these days my knitting blog will actually be about knitting again. Thanks for being patient.

*My one year blogiversary is coming up, so we'll see...

I've just used your pattern Gifted to knit some moufles and I have to say that the instructions are cristal clear and the "finitions" perfect. Thanks for making it available.

Nice picture. I'm disappointed that I missed all the Paris snow this week.

That's a great winter picture...I'm happy that my guess was close, because it means I sort of understand how many stitches are in a sweater...hooray for my math skills! Congrats Jenny!

I'm going to venture a guess of 47,301 stitches so far.

Beautiful picture, Kate. Makes it almost worth having winter to see that. Almost.

I love the picture. It can't always be about knitting!

Lovely picture. It almost makes me miss snow. Snow is better in Paris, right?

High Energy Jenny gave me Lorna's Laces cause I won her contest, so she doubly deserves to get a nice prize for winning this one! (she's got reaaaaally good taste in yarn...)

Weird that old bizarro Phildar patterns are easy to get here but the actual magazines with the stuff you really want to knit are hard to get. Even in Québec.

Yay, Jenny!

Congrats to Jenny! I knew a girl once who won an award for being a good estimater. Funny, huh?

My husband says this was an exercise in string theory. ;-)

I'll email you. But a new phildar mag would be so awesome cause they are hard to get here.
