Method and Madness
I've been inspired by people like Felicia to try to have lovely photos on my blog. But already, I'm failing miserably. My desire for nice photos today was thwarted by my stronger desire for a nap, which made me miss the remaining daylight and resort to bribing Frog to take them. Oh well. I'm not going anywhere. Hopefully you won't either and will get to see my nice photos when I finally start taking them. Here are some crappy photos that will have to do for the time being:

This is how I keep track of my rows in pattern. I hang a marker off of a stitch every 10 rows. Or if the increases or decreases are every 8 or 14 or whatever number of rows, I do it that often. It works quite well for me. By the way, I use the markers that I talked about in this post.

My orange shoes are too boot-like for summer. My green shoes give me blisters the size of silver dollars, and my shoes that are covered with flowers (no photo) are just falling apart. I decided it was time for a new pair of shoes. I'm ridiculously picky when it comes to comfort (must be), heels (too clumsy to wear them), style, price, etc. but I decided there was nothing impractical about pink shoes and that I would suck it up and pay full price while they still had my size. I've been wearing my orange ones with whatever I have on, so why not pink ones? They aren't quite as stylish as I was hoping for, but I think the pink makes up for it. I may never buy brown or black shoes again. And oh, yes. That is my gorgeous bathrobe I'm sporting. Stylin' no?

I have a pair of red shoes, I call them my 'happy shoes' because they always make me smile when I wear them. Hopefully your pink shoes will also be your 'happy shoes' because they are just too cute.

I have five pairs of pink shoes. I wear them with everything.

Hi, Kate. I'm the "lady from Madrid" at the last Paris tricot gathering. Thanks for remembering me, that's very sweet of you.
And congratulations for your IWK cover. I love the sweater and have some grey alpaca in the right gauge, but maybe it's time to try "des couleurs qui pètent".
BTW, I just finished a matching hat from Anouk leftover yarn. Thanks for sharing with us your lovely patterns.

Hi Kate! I love your new shoes! Pink is a great color. So, when are we gonna see some growing belly action? :) Also, congratulations on the IK cover, and can't wait to see what else is in the pipeline! Hope you're doing well, chica!

I found the best thing for blisters in France - these things by Compeed (you can get them at the pharmacie). They look like a big oblong piece of plastic skin, but they have made all of my blistery shoes wearable.
Your green shoes are so excellent, you should definitely give it a try!

Cute shoes!!! My friend got a pair of pink clogs that I love. Have you tried BodyGlide to prevent blisters? http://tinyurl.com/r7h6 (www.ems.com)

I dress for comfort too. I think the shoes look great.

Oh, I have very finicky feet, too. I get blisters very easily and have ridiculously high arches. Shoe-shopping is a real challenge. Funny, now that I think of it, trouser-shopping is the same way. No wonder I don't much enjoy shopping anymore.
Love the hanging-stitch-markers tip. Duh! Why didn't I think of that?

Cute shoes! I'm sure you'll find a million things to wear them with. I once had a pair of orange and a pair of pea green shoes...I wore them to death!

Love the shoes... too cute! Don't worry about the pictures too much :) You are a fab writer, and that matters most!

Are you wearing those little nude sock thingies with the green shoes? You must! Those shoes are too precious to sit in a closet. The pink shoes are adorable.

I LOVE the pink shoes. And the orange. And the green.

Those are great shoes! I might need to get some pink shoes this summer too. I'll let you know if I ever find my size on this side of the globe. Don't hold your breath.

Oh, I adore those green shoes -- maybe they're just for admiring. The pink ones are terrific and it's all about comfort (and will become even more than "all about" comfort in the coming months). I had a red & yellow (much like ketchup and mustard) pair of lace-ups years ago (they really looked like bowling shoes), but until just a few weeks ago when I bought a reddish pair, it's been all boring black, brown and blue of late. I'm liking the color...

Oh no! Those cool band-aid thingamabobs you found at the pharacist's didn't work after all? I still love your green shoes, though. But these pink ones look tres comfy as well as cute. Did we see these at Camper? They seem familiar and I think I recall coveting some very much like those. :)

You really have wonderful taste in shoes. I think I need to step out of my little box and experiment with some fun shoes after seeing those. They all look cozy, too, which is a real plus. I'm all about comfort, myself (which explains why mine aren't quite that cute most of the time).

Oooo... they look comfey! (I'm a big fan of comfortable shoes.)

Absolutely with you (surprise surprise). I adore my little red shoes so much that I couldn't bring myself to wear my formerly favorite black sandals the other day because my feet looked so very bland.

your shoes are great---i just bought some red birks which is REALLY going out on a limb for me. enjoy and be comfy!
