My buddy and me
I made a new friend. Actually, I bought her. I've been wanting one of these suckers forever, but I was waiting to move before I got one. Productivity, here I come!

One of us is a little more padded than the other...
I think I'm going to have to stick a bra stuffed with kleenex on her to give her some real boobs.

OK, just had to comment again about your apt... looking at that makes me wonder why the hell I'm still living in Paris? Your regular sized washing machines and CLOSETS! And the possibility of having your own office? Gah! Your new apt is lovely! Yay for having space for your offspring! :)

OMG. You're tiny. I'm huge, and I'm three months behind you.
I've been wanting one of those for ever as well. I'm so happy the move is turning out so good for you!!

Kate - Kudos on your design making it onto the cover of the Fall Interweave Knits. I love it! It is such an interesting, fantastic design - a sweater that will surely turn heads! I love it!!Now that you have the form I am sure we will be seeing some new designs for you - just remember us busty women since she is lacking in that department:)
Congratulations!!

j'ai accouché en novembre aussi et je crois me souvenir qu'à Thanksgiving j'avais plus de ventre que toi ;o)

Ooh, a dress form! You look wonderful pregnant, too! It's almost enough to make me want a belly again and try for my second baby. Almost...

Wait until you get a mannequin like I did! A LYS was selling her to clear out their store, so I was able get her to display my finished projects. Unfortunately, I lost the metal rod that attaches her to the glass stand. :(
Btw, I knitted up Clapotis in Malabrigo yarn and received absolute RAVES!! Thank you for creating such a classic pattern.
Crossing fingers and offering best wishes on your little one,
Kimberly

Oh, Kate, look at you!! Marvelous!

You look beautiful. And real boobs? Wait till Tadpole has been here about two days, then you will have uber-real boobs. Might want to buy a few more boxes of Kleenex for the dummy.

awww, you do look adorable. and i think you should name her too. congratulations! looking forward to seeing her draped in your lovely designs.
man, i want one of those so badly. maybe next summer, if i'm productive enough to justify it, and not just in my head.

it's called the Fabulous Fit Fitting System. fabulousfit.com. Fabulous!

hey, you can get special padding to really customise those dress forms. you get this set of pads, like bra padding but also ones to put on hips, bum, tummy (etc), and then a slip cover to hold them in place. It wasn't totally cheap, but I did end up with a dress form that is a good match for me, plus I got the original form from thrift.. Of course now I can't find the name of where I bought it - I'll try and look it up.

She needs boobs my dear.
And your bump looks like its cooking nicely :)

You look too cute! I'm very jealous that you have a new girlfriend and I don't!
Posted by: Julia at October 3, 2005 05:59 PM
After you fix her bra are you going to give her a tummy to match yours too?
Posted by: Leslie at October 3, 2005 04:42 PM
So, would it be entirely frivolous to name her?
Posted by: julia fc at October 3, 2005 04:38 PM
you are finally getting a proper belly! about time you showed, lady!
is dolly named diana, by any chance? mine looks a lot like that one and came with a name tag.

You look so sweet. Indeed, your dummy needs some major boobs!

Oh my goodness that tadpole has grown.
I want one of the those dress forms too. I put it on my Amazon wishlist where I put all the things I want but am not willing to pony up for. Not that anyone buys me anything off of there. :)

I have a dress form and I love it! Since I come with padding, I bought a dress form that does too. That way, I can fit stuff to the form instead of trying to measure myself.
Besides, she takes straight pins a heck of a lot better than I do.
Posted by: Karen B. at October 3, 2005 03:36 PM
And here I was thinking that her hips look bigger than yours. :)
Posted by: Laura Lee at October 3, 2005 03:22 PM
very cool! I've been pondering one of those...I think it would be fun to at least dress up and pretend there is another adult here to talk to during the day :o)
