knitting and nursing spot

This morning, I was supposed to have some friends and their little ones over so last night I went on a cleaning frenzy. Unfortunately, there's a huge snow storm and no sidewalks so nobody really felt like trekking over here with a baby strapped to her chest. The good thing is, my knitting spot is finally clean enough to show as Scout had asked. Alas, Frog was so amazed by the white stuff (he thought it was beautiful until he had to go to work in it) that he took our camera with him to document his first snowstorm in Canada. That means I can't show you my knitting spot after all. But have no fear, I have done the next best thing. I drew it for you.

So it ain't fine art. I drew it using my trackpad while balancing my computer on one knee and had Tadpole sleeping in my other arm. Try doing better in the same situation... I'll put up a photo later.

Well done, you've perfected doing things with one hand! Love the drawing.

Heeeeeee! I love it!

Ah, yes, one handed computering (if computering is actually a word) ... I remember it fondly. You did a great job! :)

As a first-time pregnant woman, I'm relieved to see that there is still room in your life (in your day) for knitting! Whew. I hope I'll be able to balance as much of my present life as I can while still being a new mommy next summer. We'll see how that goes... keep warm!

I'm very impressed. Brilliant!

I'm curious what the project in progress is. Baby's first snowstorm-keep warm.

Love it! I'm a new mom, too. Have you figured out how to nurse and knit at the same time? That's one thing I haven't figured out how to do. But I have plenty of those spit up piles. :)

For a one armed drawing I'm very impressed. And good news is you're good at the one arm thing---my littlest will be 15mos on Christmas and I still do a lot of one armed cleaning, etc. I'd rather be loved and hugged than clean with two arms anyday.

LOVE the spit-up. Attention to detail! ;)

too funny, Kate! I'm a new mom (7 weeks out) and your nursing spot is an exact mirror image of mine, down to the new Mac! Congratulations on such a sweet little one!

LOVE it. I'm very sorry I was one of the lameasses who couldn't get it together to trek across town, and I don't even strap her to my chest anymore...

The spit up is just hilarious. Ewww, I can still remember how that smelled...

I don't think I could have drawn that well with both hands on the computer and no distractions. It's a nice, unassuming little drawing, and it's particularly nice that Tadpole helped!

Looks like things are going well - the spit up is on the couch instead of the yarn/project - kudos! ;) (From a Mom who knows how it is!)

I really love the illustration.

Yes, impressive! :-)

Hee. I like it and I can COMPLETELY relate!

My first thought was that nursing pillow is so not to scale. Doesn't it take up a whole cushion of its own? But definitely impressive for one-armed trackpad drawing.
