Oh crap! The Olympics.

I'm not ready! I haven't trained properly (my swatch isn't done) and I'm not even sure about what I'm going to knit. Just yesterday I started thinking that I would like to make something for Tadpole. I'm panicking. I guess I'm going to have to go to the yarn store up the street that I hate and see if they have anything I like. Or maybe I should stick to my original idea and make something for myself. Maybe that's part of the challenge since I never end up finishing anything for me. Oh crap. Anyone have any knitting steroids? Or brilliant suggestions?

Knit for you, new mom!

Maybe a beautiful throw pillow for your bed filled with Lavender or Clary Sage?

I say knit something for yourself. :)

I also have a question, either for you if you have the time to answer or anyone reading your posts. I would like to knit your Sunrise Circle sweater, but I am allergic to pretty much any fiber that came from an animal, except silk.

Any yarn sugestions in cotton, silk, linen, hemp, bamboo, viscose, microfiber....?

Thanks
I really would appreciate your help.

Delurking her to say, knit for yourself. Something that you will love to wear and makes you feel great. Thanks to you I am having last minute Olympic indecision too - I just saw your Sunrise Circle design online and I am smitten. It's perfect and I want to run out to the yarn store stat to blow the yarn buying abstinence of 2006. I even love the orange color which never happens! Thanks for the great pattern. :)

Sounds like your olympic challenge should be one of two things:
1) set a number of UFOs to finish, and get it DONE or
2) pick a charity and knit as many appropriate goodies (hats for Dulaan? mittens for .... whatever your local place is) as you possibly can in the next sixteen days out of otherwise unloved stash yarn
3) pick an unsuspecting yet willing vicitm and teach him or her to knit AND get him or her to complete a hat by the time the flame goes out.

Visit the yarn shop you hate? Umm... didn't you move at least that much yarn from France to Canada? I don't recall any major destashing events at chez Needles on Fire. I don't remember you leaving this stuff with Tink. Is my memory failing me? Hmmmm....

C'mon... you're kidding us. You really know what you're knitting. Of course you do. Fess up.

I say knit something for you. Wish I could help with the knitting steroids... but you're already off caffeine and that's my only secret lately. Watching the Olympics here is just not the same, so I've taken on the role of unofficial cheerleader. You can do it!!

I think you should join my Team Sandbagger. You're definitely a qualifying candidate. Listen to you pretending to not know what you can do.... I can see right through you!!!

For yourself. Something fun and beautiful and smallish so you don't add pressure?

Sigh... I was at that same store yesterday, had I known I would have waited one day. ;) Sadly I get good service there but avoid the store everyone else raves about. Silly world. ;) Good luck with choosing your project, although I vote for making something for YOU! :)
