Updates
Winners of the contest (chosen by randomly scrolling in my emails and randomly clicking on 2 quiz result emails): Susan and Sara in WI who both happened to get a 40. I was too tired to think of a more creative way of choosing winners.
Current knitting mood: Grumpy and Lazy. The hard (and interesting) part of my project is done. The big, fat, stockinette stitch square part has begun and is kicking my ass. I'm now 5 or 6 days behind depending how you look at it but since I padded my schedule, I should be ok I didn't say that. I know the knitting gods would strike me down if I did. I just want the damned thing done.
Status of Tadpole's sweater in relation to the size of Tadpole and weather: Tadpole's bigger. Weather's hotter. Sweater's samer.
Status of other projects: Finally found the Fair Isle sock pattern. Not sure where the fair isle sock is. And before you ask: It's not my pattern. Julia got it for me at Rhinebeck from a place called The Fold whose site doesn't seem to be working. It was designed by Alina Egerman.
Other news: My mom reads my blog and is now saving me tomato bags. Works pretty well.

Other other news: Tadpole is six months old. How the heck did that happen?! She's sitting and eating rice cereal and likes to try to feed herself. Here's the obligatory food all over photo:

The sock - it is in the 'Fair Isling on Blue Moon' book - it is on the cover at http://www.bluemoonfiberarts.com/fairislebook
that one is on my 'to do' list.

I'm impressed that you strap her into the highchair. And whatever she's eating looks very yummy. :)

Congratulations on being a mommy for the past six months. That first year of parenting brings joy and constant change and adjustment- it deserves monthly congratulations. My bet is that you're doing a great job. She's a cutie.

Kate (tried to post this yesterday - sorry if it shows up twice)...I think I heard that the portal that hosts The Fold is undergoing renovations. The pattern looks like the Blue Moon fair isle (which Toni at The Fold carries); they now have a book out as well.

So cute! And topless makes her easier to clean up!

Kate, I think I heard that the portal that hosts The Fold was undergoing some renovations. Toni Neil (of The Fold) carries Blue Moon's "Socks that Rock" and I imagine that the fair isle pattern could have been one of theirs. They now have a book out as well:

I love messy babies. It's so sweet when they try to feed themselves even if they only get about half of the food into their mouths. I have photo of my son at 9 months (he's now 16 years old and that's hard to wrap my brain around) and he had just poured a bowl of baked ziti on his head. He is smiling and covered with tomato sauce and cheese. I love looking at that photo. Cleaning up the mess wasn't much fun but his chubby little face covered in sauce was just beautiful.

My Lord, she's perfect. You think 6 months is wild? I looked at my 21 month-old today as he was shouting, "I push the button!" over and over and realized- my. God. That's a friggin' SENTENCE! Next thing it'll be "Ma, where are my smokes?" Seriously.

She is just so friggin' beautiful! I love food pics. i look back at photos of my kids covered in sweet potato puree or cereal and they just crack me up.

Who knows what you wrote in your entry, I only saw that pic of tadpole and my mind went blank. Ain't she just a cutie or what!!! If she likes to feed herself, try tiny bits of bananas, they hold better. ;)

Good idea with the topless. I cannot wait, that's next month for us.
The weather is hotter in Montreal? Move to NYC.
