This is snot vacation
Reasons why this "vacation" sucks:
1. Tadpole is sick (but thankfully much better now).
2. I am sick. I'm a lot better, but am still snotting, coughing, etc. everywhere. I can't sleep and am giving myself headaches with all of my hacking.
3. I had figured that between my mom, dad, sister and sister's SO, there would be plenty of people around to amuse Tadpole which would give me lots of time to work and be productive. The flu-like virus took care of that. I lost a whole week of work and am now behind with a deadline looming.
4. I somehow overlooked that my sweater needed sleeves. And sleeves take time to knit. And I didn't plan time to knit them. And I'm behind on the rest of the sweater anyway.
5. The emails don't stop when I'm sick. I have about a million flagged emails that I need to respond to. I'm way behind. My apologies to every one. I'm trying hard to catch up.
Reasons why this "vacation" is good:
1 and 2. Mom and Dad - If I had been home alone with Tadpole last Friday, I would have died. And then starved. And then passed out. And then died again. And Frog would have come home and found Tadpole trying to nurse off of my half-dead body that would probably be slumped on the floor.
3 and 4. Sis and her SO - They managed to make Tadpole smile even when she felt crappy.
5. Food. Food's always better at mom's house, no? Especially when you don't cook it.
I'll be back to my knitting and (sporatically) blogging self soon.

Hope you're feeling much better now. I can sympathise, having been laid low with The Flu myself this week. I'm now nursing my partner through the same agonising run of symptoms.

I hope you are feeling better since this was written! And yes, grandparents are a dream. Mine are moving to be closer to us when the baby comes and what at first sounded like sort of a bad idea now seems to have very few drawbacks and all the advantages in the world. Your situation being one of them. Yay grandparents!
BTW, I went and tested out the BOB stroller and you are right! These are the bomb! Or the BOB, as the case may be. The salesguy (who was quite knowledgeable--it was a bike shop) said "These are the best strollers on the market, hands down." And they sold more than one brand. My MIL who kept foster infants for four years was very impressed. I love the swivel action on that front wheel. Plus, SO stylish. Thanks for the recommendation.

There's nothing worse than having a sick baby...except being sick at the same time. Rest when you can. The rest of the world will have to wait for you! Hugs!

Poor you; poor babe. Nothing is worse than having a sick baby, except perhaps having sick parents with really well toddlers. . . but I digress.
Soak up all the help you can and don't worry about anything except getting well!

So sorry that you are feeling under the weather! I hope that you get better soon. Rest completely before going back to work!

*groan* How awful for you all! We've gone through a similar summer bug here at our house, and it hit all 5 of us one after another. Horrible. I hope you recover quickly, and feel healthy and full of energy!

Oh, darn it. Get better soon!! Family can be so wonderful and supportive, no? (When they're not being total jerks, that is.) My sister still claims that I saved her life in those first couple of weeks of motherhood -- she's even introduced me to people that way, "This is my sister who saved my life..."
Was so happy to see another KG design in the IK Fall Preview... looks like a wonderful issue and you certainly help it along. ; )

Feel better soon. I remember my mom coming when both Craig and I had the stomach flu and I was nursing and had a 2 year old. It's *almost* funny now.
Thanks goodness for family.

Poor thing! I'm sending good thoughts to you right now. One step at a time! Ignore your fans and take care of yourself and the wee one!

Oh, geez, what a drag! Being ill is never fun, but somehow it seems worst during the summer. Thank goodness for family. Sending you and yours big hugs and wishes for a speedy recovery.

Hope your feeling up to snuff soon. It really sucks being sick, but at least it's a bit better when someone is looking after you and helping you out.
