Third yarn's a charm

I love love love love love this yarn. I love love love love loved spinning it.

I had nearly spun all of this fiber before I thought to take a photo of it. Here it is with the singles. The fiber is Polworth from Spinning Bunny in the Parrot colorway*

And here's the yarn it turned into. The color's better in person, of course.

And a closeup.

* Do I sound like I know what I'm talking about? I'm trying, but I don't. I'm just faking it.

Jiggety-joy

Yeah. I know. I still haven't really made a decent post about Boston. I'm too tired and too busy to write interesting things. So here's highlight number one. Highlight number 2 deserves its own post as well so you'll see that at a later date. Julia lent me a spinning wheel. I'm up to my eyeballs in work, so that's been competing with my desire to spin as much as possible before I give it back to her at Rhinebeck.

Here's my first yarn (not counting the one I made on a spindle a milliion years ago and I'm too lazy to go back and link to in my archives)

And here's my second yarn.

And here are spinning babies. Notice the apple beret. Why didn't I think of that myself?

Sings a song. Sounds like she's singing.

I fought the shawl and I won and now every time I look at it, I channel Stevie.
Whoo! Whoo! Whoo!

A game you'll lose

Tonight, Frog and I watched a movie together. I knit from the very beginning of the movie to the very end. The film was 136 minutes long. Guess how many rows I knit. Go on. Guess... Nope. Guess again... Nope. Guess again.... NOPE! Give up? Seven.

Now guess how many rows I have left to knit. No, don't bother. Guess how many movies I have to watch in order to finish this thing. 51 ROWS. Each row gets bigger than the last, so even if we think that I can keep knitting a row in the same amount of time, I need SEVEN AND A HALF FREAKING MOVIES!

I am knitting a shawl by the way. I'm not knitting a sweater for a car or something. And below you see the shawl. The lovely, lovely shawl. The shawl that I just stabbed with all the needles I had around, plus a crochet hook, just to show it who's boss. I have one chart left, hypotheticallly a quicker one. Maybe each row will only take 10 minutes, rather than 20. Humor me.

If I were someone who swore... actually, I do swear lots even. I just can't bring myself to leave it in when I post to my blog, so if I were someone who didn't edit herself online, you wouldn't even be able to read this post for all of the expletives that would be flying everywhere... Let's not even mention if I found that I had to rip to fix a mistake.

Also, if you didn't bother to watch the video that I posted the other day, I just thought I would mention that though I am going a bit insane right now, that is not me tearing up knitting and drooling in the photo below. I stab knitting, not tear it. We won't talk about the drooling.

The cheese fries ate my brain

I have about a thousand things to post about but I can't seem to get my act together these days. First of all, Julia is here not nowhere, as I indicated in my last post. And she summed up my visit with her here, while I only managed a couple of sentences and failed to mention Alison, who I admire greatly and was very happy to meet, regardless of my not mentioning it immediately. I blame it on the cheese fries I ate with Kelle and Maryse. I could only remember cheese fries. Anyway, while I was visiting Julia, we were talking music and it turns out that we both have the album "Le fil" by Camille, but Julia had no idea that the video featured knitting prominently, which besides the song being good, is why I bought the album. So while you're waiting for me to get my act together and post something coherent, enjoy this.
