Jiggety-joy

Yeah. I know. I still haven't really made a decent post about Boston. I'm too tired and too busy to write interesting things. So here's highlight number one. Highlight number 2 deserves its own post as well so you'll see that at a later date. Julia lent me a spinning wheel. I'm up to my eyeballs in work, so that's been competing with my desire to spin as much as possible before I give it back to her at Rhinebeck.

Here's my first yarn (not counting the one I made on a spindle a milliion years ago and I'm too lazy to go back and link to in my archives)

And here's my second yarn.

And here are spinning babies. Notice the apple beret. Why didn't I think of that myself?

Oh boy, your yarn (and good lord, Miss Tadpole) look great.

Posted by: Marnie at September 28, 2006 06:15 PM

Oh sure. A happy making device! ha Well, I think of that when it's making me happy. Then when I put down my spindle and cloud of wool I see all the things I SHOULD have been working on. It's a time sucking device Kate - don't let it fool you into thinking anything otherwise!! heh And your spinning is so AWESOME! Who would think it's your first two tries?? WOW!

And how cute is that little Tadpole in her apple beret?! SWEET! Is she walking yet?? We are NOT - thank GOODNESS! :)

The purple yarn is beautiful! Love tadpole's little face!

ok i'm getting a little bummed out by how much better every body else's yarn is looking compared to mine.

i'm clearly a talentless hack!

the tadpole is so adorable by the way. i want to squeeze her from here.

I would ask how the hell your yarn looks that good in two tries, but I realize that you are learning at the knee of JFC, and it doesn't get much better than that!

Tadpole looks adorable in her apple hat!

Posted by: kris at September 28, 2006 02:47 PM

Good for you for the spinning--it looks great! (And a whole lot better than my first yarn.)

And yeah, the apple beret . . . how very autumnal!

I want an apple beret! I wanna be the most fashionable kid in the playground!

Posted by: alison at September 28, 2006 01:57 PM

WOW. Beautiful yarn.

And that apple beret? My ovaries are totally itchy now - must go take a Benadryl.

Perhaps you should view the wheel not as a diversion, but as a happy-making device when you get stressed out by all your work.

The apple beret is too perfect.
