I-cord, therefore I am
Hello. It's 11:30 pm and I'm sitting on the floor of the bathroom* (on cushions that I had the foresight to bring with me, thankfully) knitting i-cords and contemplating the string of projects and deadlines and late nights that my life has become. For a knitting blog, Needles on Fire is painfully devoid of knitting. And blogging, now that I think of it. Contrary to what one would think, reading this blog, I have actually gotten more done in the last couple months than I ever have in such a short period of time. I thought maybe I'd give you some little looks at stuff I've finished or am working on.

You've already seen this

And everyone has seen this a thousand times. It's getting to be too small for my big girl. And yes, I am the type to make to-do lists that include things I've already done just so I can check them off, which is why you've already re-seen projects. So sue me.

Then there was this

Hooooo-weee! That's some exciting stockinette there, no?

and now I'm working on this, which is not what you would think. This is a test piece.
*I'm in the bathroom because Tadpole's asleep in her room, Frog's in our room and my parents are in the family room, so that leaves the bathroom.

i forgot to tell you: I HATE YOU! let me explain... you made 2 FABULOUS patterns in this latest IK that i feel obliged to knit immediately because they are both stylin and flattering. how dare you be so awesome and force me to selfishly knit for myself when i have so many other things to do.
XOXO

Yeah. I-cord. The thrilling part of every knitting project. But the pictures are nice. :)

So, what was the icord for and that red thing? What is it? Kinda looks like Elmo, after he shaved. Am I right? :)

Haha, I'm cracking up at the thought of you knitting I-Cords in the bathroom ;)

Call me tomorrow if you want to chat....even if you're in the bathroom.

Knitting in the bathroom only sounds good if you're soaking in the tub! Happy I-cording!

Done with your I-cord yet? I thought I was the only one who put things on a list just so I could cross something off... You are just everywhere these days aren't you? Good work!

Some of my best ideas come to me in the bathroom!
I always add things I've done to my to do lists--it's a great way to get a feeling of accomplishment.

Hey! I've done the bathroom thing too! It's usually because we have the munchkins with us in a hotel on our way to somewhere else. We hide in the bathroom to read and to knit so we don't have to go to bed when the kids do. I feel your pain--for sitting in there and for knitting I-cords. I find them repetitive and boring, and unfortunately, sometimes they're just necessary!

having lots to do, even if it's knitting a lot of i-cords, is great! congrats on the two patterns in the latest interweave. they're both beautiful. how did you manage to have two projects in one magazine? that must have been some tight deadline knitting!

My inlaws are on their way, and our bathroom isn't even big enough to knit in. I just thought I would say that I have been watching/knitting your designs since Clapotis, and I haven't been disappointed by a single one as of yet. Keep knitting!

there's nothing like knitting i-cords to enhance your bathroom philosopy sessions! (great stuff in Interweave Knits by the way!! They're both on mư to do list!)

I have knit in the bathtub with pillows around me and listening to my ipod. Try it. It is better than the floor....no butt sleeping if you place the pillows right! Knit On!

I've hid out in the bathroom for much the same reasons. I wasn't making i-cord though, I was trying to balance my checkbook. Sometimes, the bathroom is the only place to go and be alone.

Knitting the bathroom sounds very uncomfortable. Good luck with getting all the I-cord done!
