Nope, I'm not dead
Just busy. Here's the news:
Rember the cruise I was telling you about? The dates and length and price have changed. And it's leaving from NYC. So, hey, all you NYC ladies I adore, come along! I get a little panicky when I think about the classes I'm going to be giving so come and be a nice audience for me, ok? We'll knit. We'll spin. We'll pretend it's 1977, feather our hair and order fancy drinks near the pool. If Frog comes along, we'll call him "Gopher." Cruise info here. Call Patricia at 888-286-9827.
The new class schedule is up at Effiloché. I gave a socks class a couple weeks ago. We made these mini-socks so we could try out all of the techniques in a 3 hour class. Later that week, I got a photo from Marianne, who was in the class. I love it. Here it is:

I also had a really cute photo of Marianne with the mittens she had made after taking the mittens workshop with me. Unfortunately, I can't find it so you'll just have to believe me that both Marianne, and her striped mittens, are adorable.
I'm currently working on mittens and a sweater. And as usual, I can't show you. Maybe you'll get a little peek another time. I'm too lazy to do creative photography today. My spinning wheel is sitting in the office feeling very neglected. I'm thinking about it and reading a little Alden Amos while waiting for the day I'll actually have time to spin again.
Take care.

Hi Kate, the un-dead!
Hey, I'm going to be a first timer grandma in June and it's a little girl! Yippee! I had all brothers, husband had all brothers and I had all sons(3). I want to celebrate by knitting a BUNCH of girl things! I have waited for the Laura sweater and hat pattern to be finished. IS IT , somewhere??? I would love to do it. I love yours you've done in both color sets.
Well, in the meantime, have a great time!

I wish I could be on that cruise!! And oh my gosh that dog is the cutest! Have fun with your classes and cruise plans and everything. You'll find a way to work spinning in there.
How's baby Tadpole? Time for a new picture Mama. :)

I hope that Halifax is still on the list of "ports of call" - I'm marking that week in my calendar now!

Y'know, if you're going to be hitting Halifax...the lovely ladies of the Halifax SnB would be delighted to show you all the beauties of Haligonian life. Yarn stores included, naturally. Souvenir yarn, ahoy!

Wait...does this mean you'll be leaving from NYC too? Which means you'll BE in NYC? Maybe enough ahead of time to hang out? 'Cause, you know, we need to do more of that.

Hey! I got your email! Thank you. I've been thinking about you too! Sounds like you're doing well. Busy but well... :) That sock on the dog is too funny... gotta love it. Wish I could take a sock class with you. I just knit my first pair, so happy about that. Now I'm experimenting with other heels. I can't figure out of to make my short row heels less holey, any advice?
