Photastic

Hi. Just back from a week in New York. New York Knits was great. The shoe shopping was great. I bought 2 3 4 several pairs of shoes. I had fish fry, ate ice cream, discovered the wonder of pausing and fast forwarding TV and fell in love with Target all over again. I also left my camera connection cable thingydingy at my parents' place and I'm too lazy to write much so I've decided to share a couple photos that I never got around to posting.

Same hat, same sweater, same baby

411 days difference

the only hope one can have when knitting babyclothes is that the people one knit for will have a plenitude of babies of the same sex. hoho. i knit samantha and a red peapod set. and it was amazing how soon alba grew out of it....
i am happy that one never gets too big for a clapotis...

Beautiful knitwear, beautiful Tadpole!

That is too cute - I did the exact same thing. Knit a hat and matching cardigan - the hat fit my daughter when she was an infant and she fits the cardigan now - 3 years on... Good way to bring longevity to those projects, I say.

You just don't realise how quickly they grow....sometimes it's great to stop and look back by putting clothes up against them!

It's such a great knit :)

Isn't that just amazing how quickly they grow up? Did you know that a friend and I started a PeaPod KAL? You should check is out since you are who you are :-)

Cute Tadpole, great butterfly photo!

They grow so darn fast don't they?

She is so pretty! I love the way that Tadpole has grown. Great photo of Frog, too.

Love that little sweater and hat!!!

Neat butterfly photo!!

I can't believe how big she's getting!

Love the butterfly picture. How serendipitous.

How your tadpole has grown!

The amazing expanding baby!! The one and only thing I've ever knit (since some inadvertantly lacy doll blankets and scarves as a little girl) was a fair isle sweater for my daughter when she was two. She's now 21. I gave it away as a hand-me-down. WHAT was I thinking??

p.s. Frog has v. cool glassses.

My they grow up so fast, don't they.? Not in Upstate NY, but we have fish fries here and I love them. Yummy.

You know you've been in Upstate NY when you've had Fish Fry. (Was it on Friday night?)

I was just thinking of your trip--I need to book a flight to Rochester for my cousin's graduation!

The peapod sweater is one of the things I'd still love to knit for my little girlie, who is just a month or so older than Tadpole I think. I love that you got the fuzzy back-of-head hair in one of the photos - that's my girlie's usual "look" no matter what I do. :)

Amazing how those kids grow!

Hi Kate, It was fun taking the raglan class from you this Saturday. Glad to see you enjoyed the rest of your time in that area too. Love the pea pod set. I've made two myself for friends :) Maybe some day I'll be lucky enough to have some baby of my own to knit for! I can't believe though, that your pea pod was able to fit Tadpole 411 days later. What a knitting coup!

Posted by: connie at April 17, 2007 04:53 PM

Aww... looks like the sweater fits her well now!

Sweet sweet Tadpole in her Peapod set and wow - what an awesome photo of Frog with the Mariposa! Love it! Totally frame-able. Make it a poster. It looks like something you'd see hanging at the library.

I'm knittng the pea pod sweater in a Knit Picks Elegance color grass. I finished the body of the sweater last night and today I will begin the sleeves. I have ladybug buttons for my sweater. This has been a fun pattern. Thank you

I love that butterfly photo. Just a great picture.

Tadpole just slays me. Nicely done on the shoe shopping front. You'll have to make time to shop for shoes when you come down to NYC. In the interest of full disclosure, i should warn you that shoe shopping is something at which I excel, and I'm a champion enabler.

big hugs to you and that sweet baby!

Posted by: regina at April 17, 2007 09:41 AM

Hey you! Welcome back. I've missed yah! She is just too damn cute.

Posted by: scout at April 17, 2007 09:00 AM

Wow - that butterfly photo is so cool - it must have been having a good rest if you managed to get a photo (or Frog spread honey on his forehead).

The wee girl is getting so big! She looks so "grown up" in her sweater.

Posted by: Steph VW at April 17, 2007 08:30 AM

So when the hat fit the sweater didn't and then when the sweater fit the hat was too small. Ahh, the irony. Tadpole just gets cuter and cuter.

Posted by: Carole at April 17, 2007 07:21 AM

What a beautiful sweater and hat! Hopefully next time you are in Rochester giving a class I will be able to go :)

Posted by: Katie at April 17, 2007 06:38 AM

The sweater still looks great and she, of course, is darling!

Posted by: Kathy at April 17, 2007 06:25 AM

Look at all that hair!
