Half an FO and Another Look part 2
I finished a sock.

But I'm not sure if I'm going to make the second. I wasn't really paying attention to my gauge and as usual, I knit more tightly than I had planned. That combined with the stitch pattern makes for a kind of snug sock. I'm not sure if I should make a second at the correct gauge and just deal with having one sort of snug sock or make the second the same and have two snug socks, or give them away, or use it as an example in classes or what. What would you do? My sister claimed that they were going to cut off her circulation and she would have to wear them forever and ever. I guess that means she doesn't want them. They were tight, but not that tight. They did leave marks on her feet though.

Before you ask, the pattern should be ready really soon, depending on the availability of my beloved tech editor.
A couple of you asked, so here's a shot of the back of the wing top. Again, just a photo to show my mom and it's on my sister in my living room so it's not an styled, planned out shot.

Hi, I love your sock pattern, and yes I would agree they were just an itsy bit tight... I like the top too, very fun!!
Thank you!

Thank you, sister, for making my lifelong dream of being a foot model come true. Although the second picture, the one with the imprints on my foot from the tightest sock ever created, actually looks like I have exceedingly hairy legs and feet, which is gross...and which I don't. Cool pic though of the sock and pool...it was awfully nice of me to model for you.

no idea what to do with the sock. but the pattern is pretty.

i think you should make the next one at the right gauge and then you can write the pattern for 2 different gauges. That will make it work for more people. If that's your goal, of course!

Lovely sock, Kate! And thanks for giving us another view of your winged top. I didn't like how they photographed it in the magazine. I like it much better the way your sister is wearing it, with both ends thrown over the shoulder.

I *love* the sock. I'd probably call the tight one a learner and knit a larger pair all for myself, because I'm selfish that way.

Love how the sock turned out. If it was me, I would make a second sock and find them a home.

Love the sock. Wing is so great! Put a pair of strappy sandals on your sister, and she's ready for the runway!

Love the sock. I say make another at the same gauge and either gift it or use it as an example.

Gorgeous sock, Kate!
Make a new pair for yourself and use the one that's too tight as a class sock. In addition to being a beautiful pattern, it's a good chance to discuss how the pattern affects the fit of the sock.
