Too hot for good post

too hot for good words. full sentences. coherence. just too hot.

Spun up the rest of that roving I had. Plied it so I could use up all of the BFL. Ended up with 2 plies of BFL and 1 ply of silk/merino. Color is rustier than the orangier first batch. Also has streaks of green and yellow in the silk/merino ply. Different. But not terribly different. Originally intended the orange yarn for thick winter socks, but now have enough yarn to make a sweater for Tadpole so might do that but the yarn will probably wear badly... but how nice to make a sweater for your baby with yarn you spun. Love in the yarn. Love in the stitches. Cheesy. I know. (in photo - on left, navajo plied silk/merino blend from leftovers, on top, new yarn, on bottom, old yarn)

Remember this? It's this in the fall IK. Loved the yarn. Loved the sweater. Yes, not as exciting as some of my past crazy ideas, but very wearable. Want one for myself. (photo cropped to hide evidence of sleep deprivation)

Hope started Kate Gilbert Knit Club on Ravelry. Join us. Find out about new stuff and... stuff. Patterns. Classes. Errata. You know, stuff.

It's so lovely, congratulations. I've just finished your Wing Top pattern from the Summer IK and I'm here to thank you for it. I got loads of compliments when I wore it and I'm quite happy with it, indeed. I'll have to queue this one as well!

Lovely sweater -- I think it actually suits you better than the IK model. :)

Great Sweater and as everyone else has noted, fab colour! I understand chopping off the head in the photo...there are just some days as am Mum that you don't feel so photogenic!....sadly I'm on the waitlist for Ravelry...so hard to be patient when everyone is raving about it!

I love these shots of your published sweaters on you or your sister. What does the sweater look like with the buttons opened? Is it kind of like a sailor collar in that case?

I love that sweater! I think that one could become a wardrobe staple. It's in the Ravelry queue!

For some reason I'm much more tempted to make the sweater after seeing it on you than after seeing it on the model.

OMG I love this sweater! I will have to pick up this issue just for this sweater. What a great line it has & I love the long line of buttons. :)

Love the sweater and you look terrific. It does look wearable. And hooray for plied yarn (must do the same.)

Posted by: Kathy at August 3, 2007 11:11 AM

I wanna knit it! If only I could pawn off my other contract work so I could knit myself tons of sweaters...

Posted by: Miriam at August 3, 2007 08:52 AM

I do love the sweater, I kept meaning to email you to tell you that!

Love the sweater. But did you or did IK reverse the picture? And obviously, although on holiday and hardly ever on the internet, I am already a member of the KG Club :).

Posted by: julia at August 3, 2007 04:33 AM

Oh yes I would do the sweater. You can't go wrong with all that love in there, and I love the color.

Ooh I'm going to have to check out the new group.
