Two recent conversations
Friend: So you were away?
Me: Yeah. We went to a fiber festival outside of Boston.
Friend: A fiber festival.
Me: Mmm hmmm.
Friend: You mean people sitting around eating brown bread?
Standing in front of my office where there is a tall, thin bookcase sort of thing full of buckets overflowing with yarn
Friend 2: Kate, I thought your stash was in Tadpole's closet.
Me: It is.
Friend 2: Then what's all of this yarn for?
My family has often used the word "intervention" when talking about the yarn I have but after seeing what some of you have (I won't name names) I'm very confident, I have a small, manageable stash. Not as small as Friend 2 who has such a petite stash that it might not even fill one of those giant plastic bags... Maybe I should take her to Vermont Sheep and Wool.

Vermont looks like a lot of fun this year, I'm going and taking a few classes, then hitting the Magic Hat brewery afterwards, Yay Beer!

Wow. Brown bread. Snort!
Regarding the prior post, I love the shot of Tadpole's feet. They'll just keep growing!

Wouldn't want to hang around for the final day of a fiber festival, if it involved excessive bran!
Although, it would be an interesting line-up of booths!

such are the perils of hanging out with muggles.

Ha! That sounds like the conversation I had with my in-laws when I told them I was going to meet a blog friend.
Sister-in-law: So, you're going to have lunch with someone you met over the *internet*?
Me: Yeah, she's an obsessive knitter like me and we have similar tastes in design.
Sister-in-law: Are you sure *she* isn't a 45 year old man?

It's true that "fiber" has taken on a very different meaning in my life than, say, five years ago.
Pretty web!

What a great picture!
That is the only spinning going on at my house, too!

My husband encourages me to keep buying yarn. That way he can keep justifying buying more power tools!

Friend 2's stash isn't a stash. that's a shopping trip.
i was talking to a work friend one day and when i told her i wanted to take another spinning class she thought i meant spinning on a stationary bike.

*Ahem* I know which of which stash you speak. It is a thing of wonder and beauty.

Isn't it fun to have friends out side of our fiber lives? They are always entertaining;-)

Fiber festival = brown bread - I love it! Thanks for the laugh.

Hahahahahaha!! Those made me laugh. Love the web picture.

Heh heh. Fiber festival. If only the All Br*an people knew how literally knitters and spinners understood their tagline, "Make fiber your friend."

Funny! I too have a spider web outside my sliding door to the porch. Love how the morning sun catches the web and lights it up. I've been doing more on the Schacht now Alice is gone. It's getting better, though not as good as I'd like it to be. The learning curve continues.

Brown bread. How did you answer that? You know fiber enthusiasts, we like to be "regular."
