I'm ba-ack

Last weekend was the retreat at the Green Mountain Spinnery. I had a really great time. The participants were lovely. The food was local and delicious. The spinnery people were awesome. Their yarn is fantastic. Their philosophy is inspiring. Too bad I had camnesia. On Saturday afternoon, we were all sitting outside knitting in the fall sunshine. I said "Ooh! I have to take a photo of this!" and then was quickly distracted by something else. Oh well. Below is Margaret, Maureen and me.

This is some of their sock yarn. I can't remember what it's called. Maureen? Margaret? Remind me, please? Whatever it's called, I like it a lot. I'll show you the progress on my blue sock another day.

I bought just one hank of the Green Mountain Green with the intention of swatching and eventually making a sweater with it. It's incredibly soft. If I can't figure out a deserving pattern, I'll just have to wrap the yarn around me a thousand times. Maureen (and Patti too) will be at Rhinebeck so you'll have to check it out for yourself then.

I also bought 2 hanks of the Alpaca Elegance that I want to make mittens out of... or socks... or gloves... I'm not sure yet.

I hope you all had as good a weekend as I did.

Camnesia! I love it!

Thanks for the heads up about Rhinebeck, I'll definitely stop by the booth for a squeeze. You make the yarn sound so appealing!

Hiya Kate, thanks again for a great weekend at the Spinnery! You were a wonderful teacher and I really enjoyed learning how to do two socks on the magic loop. I've been knitting away and am working on the feet. Can't wait to see what desing you'll come up with for the Green Mountain Green. I love that yarn.

As always, your hair looks fabulous! I love Green Mountain yarns. Lucky you!
Do you think maybe sometime you could come to Minnesota? Minneapolis? Pretty please? :-)

Sounds like a great time and look at that grin. You can tell that you have found your happy place for sure. ;)

My friend has a yarn store and sells their stuff. It is all so nice it is hard to choose.

Kate, you were such a good teacher. I still have many questions for you :) I'm plugging away at my sweater...and you and I got the same sock yarn - color and all! I can't recall what it was called, but it is a 50% merino/50% mohair blend. Thanks for coming to VT and sharing your talent with the class!

Glad you had such a good weekend, Kate. And you look so cute in the sunrise circle jacket. Do you knit yourself most of what you design? Other than your designs for Knitty where you keep the sample, it must be kind of a pain to have to knit something twice ;)

Sounds like a fun time. I love their yarns. They were working on a WIP at the Woolapalooza in March with the Alpaca Elegance. I, too, am smitten.

I DIDN'T see the sock yarn.

You look so happy, and that hair suits you beautifully. I really REALLY wish I had been there. Looking forward to seeing you at Rhinebeck.

Your hair! So long...

I wish I could have gone. I mean it was in Vermont! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed yourself :)
