144 is the new zero
That is the number of flagged email messages I constantly have to answer. There were more than that an hour ago, but I'm back to 144. Whenever I manage to get it below that, it goes back up to 144. Maybe I should consider that the new zero. Maybe I'm just wildly ineffective at answering them. Maybe I just get too darned many of them. sigh.
Anyway, I'm super overdue with my examination of 2007. I've been avoiding it because I have the feeling I didn't get much done this year. Here's a collage of what I did get done (besides a tiny bit of spinning that never got photographed)

In addition to what you see in the photo, there are 13 UFOs, 4 of which linger on from 2006.
I'm going to state my goals for 2008 simply:
Do more.
Do less.
Do something for me once in a while.
I hope I'll be seeing lots of you this year and that we'll learn all sorts of wonderful new things together. (That sounded cheesey but I don't care)

Everything you've done is sooo beautiful. You're definitely someone I'm continually inspired by. Thank you.

Thanks for taking the time to blog on top of everything else you do! :)

I adore that purple snowflake stocking and even though I don't decorate for Xmas it is on my list of Wanna Knits. I'll think of someone I can gift it to just so I can knit it.

Only for you would a year filled with beautiful designs, knitting, and spinning, be a year in which you think you haven't gotten much done. Are you kidding me? Just your recently released mitten patterns *alone* would have made for a great year, much less the design hemorrhage you actually produced! I love reading your year end wrap ups by the way.

those sound like good goals. reasonable. sanity savers.

The inclusionary part of your goals fits. Love that.
So does the contradiction.

Of everything you did in 2007, I think Tadpole's handspun sweater is one of the most beautiful FO's of the year. The colors suit her so well, and the simple sweater lets the yarn shine. I hope to see you in 2008 as well :)

The "little bit" that you got done motivates me to get more done. Your "little bit" makes my little bit look nonexistent!

Start fresh with those emails! I do love your work and seeing it all together even more so! Hope to see you soon!

You did PLENTY. I hope to see more of you this year, and I truly hope you're able to make time to do things for yourself. I don't know why so many of us are conditioned to feel like needing time for oneself is somehow selfish. I think it's more self-preservationist than anything else.

You did more than I did, if that makes you feel better. I like your goals! :-)

Knowing the work that goes into all you do, your accomplishments are inspiring -- esp. with a little Tadpole at home! I do hope you get to New England for more events (Spa??) and mingling. Revival is on my birthday this year, so you can bet I'll be working in some "hangin' out" time!

I really like your goals for 2008. They are simple, but adequate. I may adopt them for myself...

Although you don't post much, I do enjoy reading your blog. :) Your projects and patterns are wonderful. :)

I think your goals are excellent ones! I have finally (after many years) realized that simple goals are the most likely to be accomplished, and make you feel happier in the end.
Good luck!

Not cheesy. We (Nine Rubies Knitting in San Mateo) share the same goal. We would love you at the shop if you can work it out.

It did sound cheesy, but in that good, endearing way. So it's okay.

I like your goals. They sound almost doable. As for the last statement? I didn't think it sounded cheesey at all. In fact, I hope so, too. I think the hardest thing in your whole blog is the doing things for ourselves once in a while.
