The Circle Jacket way back when
For those of you who don't know, the Sunrise Circle Jacket is one of the top 5 winners of Knitter's Daily Readers' Choice. Where in the top 5? I have no idea. I don't think they've said yet. But to mark the occasion, Knitting Daily has organized a blog tour. My good friend Julia interviewed me here Pretty ridiculous to think that we were nervous about the interview when we speak or email nearly every day!
And just for kicks, I found a photo of the swatch I knitted and sent to Interweave when I submitted the idea for the jacket. Good thing Pam Allen has an imagination, no? It should have been called the "lumpy jacket". Apparently I had never heard of blocking.

Thank you for your votes!

Congratulations on the Top 5 placement for the SCJ. I've wanted to make it for so long, but I'm afraid I'm too large for it!

It is indeed a good think Ms. Allen had a sense of imagination. If she hadn't accepted your submission we'd all be without the SCJ! Horrors! I love mine... it gets so many compliments.

I have always loved the Sunrise circle...even if it started out "lumpy". Congrats on the top 5 finish - it is an amazing design.

Did you know that the Circle Jacket was on TV? I saw it on NCIS, the episode titled TRIBES.

Why didn't I know that you are Kate Gilbert of the famed SCJ? I've had your site bookmarked forever and yet it took Julia's interview to make the connection for me. Thank you for such wonderful designs. Congratulations! You are so talented.

Lovely interview -- and, of course lovely pattern. Still in the "q" -- almost at my weight loss goal so I can knit it! :)

Yay! I saw it there -- no surprise, though. :)
p.s., I'll be able to leave the house in another week or so! And it's getting warm outside! I'll be in touch...

I am ready to cast on for one soon - I just need to finish the sweater I'm working on or I'm afraid I'll never to back!

As you know sweater and me are an unfinished business (ah! ah!) so I do not see doing the Sunrise - unless for my daughter.. HOWEVER, did I love doing Clapotis - YESSSSSS !!! this was my first "taken on the Net" pattern and I loved it.. I keep getting tons of positive comments everytime I wear it.. and the mitts will be next.. See you Sunday !
